I searched my catalogs but can`t find an MR 41.did find an MR 401 that was the low end of that series.sold for 40,ooo yen.could be about where the one in question here sits. Also got an S-61 at a closing out sale locally.solid cedar top solid mahogany back.another nice one and not top end but for the money I`m very happy with it, came with a pick-up but no holes in the body. Morris produced copies of dreadnought and small jumbo models based on Martin and Gibson designs. He named it Morris, taken from the nickname given to him a while back. In 1967, he founded the Morris Guitars company.
An employee at Gibson nicknamed him “Mori” at that time. Moridaira was able to visit the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In 1964, due to his working relationship with Gibson, Mr. Toshio Moridaira, the founder, was the first distributor in Japan to carry both Fender and Gibson lines. The Morris Guitars company has been building quality handcrafted instruments in Nagano, Japan for a long time.
